(AP) FOND DU LAC The 100 cheese company workers who won a Powerball jackpot worth $208.6 million tried a number of things to increase their luck -- and finally won when they rubbed the belly of a small statue of the Buddha.
"We don't know if it was this Buddha that brought us luck. We don't know if it was our prayers to God that were answered," said Mary Entringer, who organized the pool. "We have no idea, we're just grateful."

Answer to the question: Why a Blog Set to the Top
Submitted by Clipper on Mon, 2006-09-25 20:03.It's not a political statment, it's not playing favorites! It has to do with a blog that is hand written and researched! It is a blog that has information for the masses! It is a resource blog!
Sometimes bloggers get carried away with the copy and paste of news articles and flood out the hard work content of a true blogger!
So in a effort to give ANYONE air time that has taken the time to write, compile and post and not be shuffled to the bottom of the list it is set to the top for 24 hours.

Spc. Ethan Biggers has been in a coma since being shot in the head in Iraq in March. While Biggers was at Walter Reed hospital, a sergeant who had recovered from a head injury-induced coma gave him a bracelet with a medallion that had been blessed by the pope.
A growing number of troops are returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with severe brain damage, prompting the Army to examine whether living wills or other care directives from soldiers ought to be available to battlefield doctors.
If you see these CEOs on MySpace
Submitted by Clipper on Mon, 2006-09-25 16:19.You might be seeing a fake....
The conventional wisdom is that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But in the digital age, that's often not the case for high-profile professionals being targeted on MySpace.com.
The social-networking site is filled with dozens of user pages that purport to be profile pages created by business luminaries Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Steve Jobs, Martha Stewart and Donald Trump.
Fake MySpace Profiles
Submitted by Clipper on Mon, 2006-09-25 16:12.Let me start by explaining why I’ve decided to expose the idiots who use fake profiles on MySpace for marketing purposes. I’ve been doing online marketing full-time in one form or another for a few years now. And, I’ve been a half-ass active member of the Online Adult Industry since December of 2004. Since I like boobies and a relaxed business atmosphere, I’d like to focus my attention on promoting adult services and products.

When First Amendment hits ‘close to home,' teens care

High school students are much more likely than they were even two years ago to learn about the First Amendment in class, but their opinions about what it says and does present a mixed picture, a study says today.
“There's lots of discussion happening in schools, maybe discussions about should the government have the right to limit freedoms, if that means better protections” in combating terrorism, co-author Kenneth Dautrich says. “Just because there's more discussion doesn't mean there's more favorable attitudes toward freedoms in the First Amendment.”

Residents of one of the Internet's most populous virtual worlds shop, attend class—even run businesses. Soon you may do the same.
I’m standing in an airy train station surrounded by rolling, wooded hills. Distant sounds of birds and trickling water reach my ears over a low buzz of chitchat from the people around me. They have come from all over North America to meet here, and now they’re lounging on couches and standing in sociable little clots. Ballerinas are talking to men in body armor, while guys in suits show off their dance moves to aliens and ladies with wings. I try not to stare.

A GREAT SYMBOL IS BORN! LET US REJOICE!
(AP) MILWAUKEE A farm in Wisconsin is quickly becoming hallowed ground again for American Indians with the birth of its third white buffalo, an animal considered sacred by many tribes for its potential to bring good fortune and peace.
Dave Heider said he was inspecting damage on his farm after a late August storm when he saw the newly born buffalo, a male. His last white buffalo, a female named Miracle, died in 2004 at the age of 10. Thousands of people came to see the animal, whose coat became darker as it aged.

She loves her fiancé, but he's not helping with the bills. Should she kick him to the curb or keep the relationship going?
A group of advice-giving seniors at a retirement home in Gaithersburg, Md., pondered the letter writer's query for about a nanosecond before 96-year-old Stephanie Martenson, sitting behind her walker and ringed by 14 other seniors in a mauve-carpeted multipurpose room, issued her verdict.
Who will get into heaven?
Submitted by Clipper on Tue, 2006-09-12 17:13.
Americans clearly believe in heaven and salvation — they just don't agree on who's eligible.
The Baylor Religion Survey finds that most Americans (58.3%) agree with the statement "many religions lead to salvation."
"People clearly are not holding an exclusivist view," says Baylor sociologist Kevin Dougherty.
Some may wonder whether respondents thought the question referred only to other Christian denominations, because many Christian churches teach that salvation is through Jesus alone.
